The serial number for '75-'80 Club Cars can be found by lifting the seat and looking on the aluminum I-beam located just inboard of the driver side battery bank. The serial number tag may or may not be there, however all of these '75-'80 model Club Cars has two brake pedals and one accelerator pedal. If your car has this pedal cluster then it is pre-'80.

Club Car is one of the few golf car manufacturers with an easy to decode serial number system. The chart below outlines this system: 

A = Denotes a standard Electric golf car.

EXAMPLES A7500-00000=1975 Electric Car

 

The serial number for '81-Present Club Car golf cars can be found just under the passenger side glove box (where the floormat meets the underside of the dash). The serial number tag may or may not be there, however all of these '81-Present model Club Cars have only one brake pedal and one accelerator pedal.

Club Car is one of the few golf car manufacturers with an easy to decode serial number system. The chart below outlines this system: 

A* or  AA = Denotes a standard Electric golf car. AQ = Denotes an Electric golf car with IQ system. AG = Denotes a standard Gas golf car. *Club Car switched from A to AA in 2001 for electric carts.  So you may only have one letter instead of two.

EXAMPLES A8400-00000 = 1984 Electric Car AA0200-00000 = 2002 Electric Car AQ0200-00000 = 2002 Electric Car with IQ AG8800-00000 = 1988 Gas Car
